    Converting Word to PDF
    « on: August 29, 2006, 02:36:17 PM »
Does anyone know how to convert a word doc to PDF format.  I was told you have to use a third party comverter's software. Is there any other options. I am designing a web site for my business and want to place some articles on one of the pages, I would prefer that they are in PDF to save on space.

    Thanks

PDFs will not necessarily save on space.

To convert to PDFs, grap hold of PrimoPDF.  You'll find a link in the software FAQ (see my signature).  It effectively installs a printer driver so that you can "print to PDF" from any program.

I believe OpenOffice will allow the save of a Word file in pdf format as well.

And OpenOffice documents are typically much smaller than the equivalent Word files, so you could just keep them in OO format, and tell everyone to get OpenOffice!
