Can't see pictures on websites
« on: August 26, 2006, 02:55:46 PM »
When I go to some websites an click on a botton to bring up a picture all I get is a square with a red x in it. Like this page at the top where the buttons for home, help, search, members, profile and so forth. The words are there but not the pictures. What do I need to do to see the pictures on websites I go to?

Thanks

You may need to do the following as well

As a test try the following.

      IE>Tools>Internet Options>Security>Trusted Sites>Sites
      Untick the 'Server Verification' box
Type in your trusted address as below
        *.computerhope.com
      Press the Add button

Tools menu > internet options >  advanced >
Multimendia section, show pictures box, make sure it's ticked.

Double-click Internet Explorer icon on desktop.
On View menu (in IE 4) or Tools menu (in IE 5 and 6) click Internet Options.
In Internet Options dialog box, click Advanced tab.
Under Multimedia, check these boxes: Play Animations in web pages, Play sounds in web pages, Play videos in web pages, Show image download placeholders, Show pictures, and Smart image dithering.
        Then click OK.
This worked for me. Good luck! :D
