e-mail picture attachments
« on: November 08, 2006, 01:36:09 PM »
Sometimes when I forward, or receive, an e-mail with pictures attached, instead of the picture, I get an icon, (a box with a square, circle and triangle).  What causes this and how can it be corrected?

Mike... :-?
Bad news.  I right clicked on the icon and left clicked on "show picture" in the drop down menu.  Nothing happened.  Any suggestions?

I am using hotmail.  Add'l info.  I right clicked and looked at properties.  All properties reflected "Not Available", including the URL.

So, you always access your email via your web browser, right?  Do you have any problems viewing images on web pages?

I'm not a Hotmail user, so I may not be able to give further assistance on this.  Maybe Mike will be back or someone else will have some thoughts on this.

I have no other problems viewing pictures on the web and the stated problem is intermittant. I can get a email with a picture attachment and view it with no problem.  E-mail it to myself and the picture is not viewable.  Sometimes the pictures I recieve are not viewable.  I have open the attachments on outlook express and cannot view them there also.  :-? Thanks for the effort.

Well, now you've mentioned Outlook Express.  So, since Hotmail is basically web-based email, I'll ask again, do you always access your email via your web browser?  Or, can Outlook Express be configured to receive Hotmail?  And, if so, is that how you receive your mail?

I have outlook express configured to recieve hotmail, however, I always access hotmail to read my email.  It is a rare occasion for me to access outlook express.
