QUESTION: Updating video card drivers

Should I download and update my drivers for my new Graphics Card or should I just use the ones that came in the disc with my new card. My new card is the ATI Radion 9600XT. Should I go to the ATI web site and download the 40 MB file.

Yes.

Uninstall your old drivers before continuing. Follow the instructions provided by ATI on the website.

Newer drivers are usually more refined and improve performance - particularly at the top end of cards where the company has had less time to mature drivers for those cards.  Your 9600XT should show improvement for new drivers as they become available.
