    W2K, Modem and mIRC

Trying to get files via mIRC seems to stop because ports 4000-4010 are not open as they say...
I have a modem in bridgemode, which wouldnt be a problem if I didnt have W2K...so no Windows Firewall. Now I do have Sygate Pro 5.6 and people say I can adjust those ports into Sygate...????????? But how? Have no idea....if there are any "outside/unknown" ports or contacts, Sygate always asks for admission, say I yes it's ok, say I no, it is topped...but what now?

Oh, and by the way, no standar gateway starting with IP 192. etc or 10. etc...so no looks via google...lol...
