Installation of Windows XP
« on: March 14, 2007, 01:07:36 PM »
ok well yesterday I installed windows xp to override all of the things that I had on the computer. However, I made the mistake of putting all of the windows files not in the Windows folder but I changed the name to Window.I manually deleted the WINDOW file but when I made another installation of windows to be put in the Windows folder, nothing was deleted. In my program files, there was still everything inside. I deleted them all manually. Did i delete everything that i made from my WINDOW installation?

Sounds like you need to format the drive and install it correctly. If you have any important data, be sure to back it up first.

I have done all of that multiple times with the WINDOWS folder. it still will not overwrite it. My new administrator account is administrator(and the computer number given) i must delete that  manually. I dont know if its the drives fault or the installation cd. However, as it stands it still has all of the program files but has none of the programs
