COMPUTER WON'T POST
« on: May 02, 2007, 12:16:13 PM »
my computer won't post.  What are the minimun hardware components that need to be installed for computer to post.  I've checked the power supply, cmos battery, reset the cmos.  All i get now when starting up are long beeps that have no pattern to them.

I think that if you have to ask, you're not quite done putting it together.

Long beeps might indicate overheating or a power plug that's stuck halfway in. Reinsert everything and make sure it's seated properly.

Thanks for the Help Raptor, but i could do without the sarcastic remarks.  The computer worked fine but obviously something went south with it.  So to your reply, i was done putting it together.  i'm just trying to diagnose what component went bad, etc.
