Problem accessing my D:
« on: October 24, 2004, 11:58:13 AM »
Hello everybody,

first of all, it's my first visit here and i must say it's a really nice forum.
Here is my problem:
I have a p4 2.8Ghz, asus p4p800-deluxe, 120gb sata 7200rpm maxtor, 1024 ddr 400 dual channel, nvidia fx5900 ultra 256 mb.  I partitioned my hard drive so the D: is for the games, music and videos.  But, it seems like it has problems accessing it.  When i double click on it, the hard drive makes noises and takes time before opening it.  Also, it is really slow when i play my games, before i had 30fps or more, now i have sometime 15.

I formatted and reinstalled everything, i installed a rack so it can take a mobile hard drive.  I checked for viruses, spywares, etc.. there is nothing.

Anyone can help?
Thanks

Raptor

My views of course is to use winxp... as fat32....not ntfs? but you can use this>http://www.ntfs.com/products.htm and info from m$oft as they seem to use /users on a limb...less info the better>http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;309000
