Lost access to BIOS - not password problem
« on: June 14, 2007, 12:55:03 PM »
Hey, the other day i was disabling fan control in the BIOS as I was having overheating problems. While I was there I thought i'd set a BIOS password.

Anyway, if i go into the BIOS now it accepts my password (I also tested incorrect ones and it rejects them) BUT I can't change anything in there other than Boot priorities!!!

*censored*!?

I have a pheonix BIOS, not 100% sure of the version but I can find out next time i reboot

I think this is a strange problem, any ideas?

Many thanks!

    Try this:
    1. Take the battery off the motherboard and let the thing set for awhile.  Also look for a jumper on the motherboard.  You may have to take it off as well to reset the BIOS.

make sure the computer is unplugged when you remove the battery some boards will retain the bios settings if the battery is pulled and the psu is still giving the board power.
