Keyboard help?

I have a Dell Laptop (might be the problem =P) but when i push any key on the keyboard, the output on the monitor does not correspond with the key i pushed.  for example the tab key outputs a == instead.  Could I get some help?

For the record, i am not using the laptop to type this question up :)
