Graphics not working: no signal when drivers installed
« on: July 21, 2007, 03:42:22 AM »
Hi,

I just purchased a pci-e card (MSI Radeon X1550). I use windows vista, motherboard MSI RS480M2. When I run windows in safe modus or when the drivers are not installed, I get signal. When I install the drivers (i've tried both the one windows finds and the newest from msi site), there is no signal when it gets to windows. I've tried searching for it, but i mostly find 'try the newest driver'.

Before this graphics card, I used the onboard VGA. I thought it may have to do with disabling the onboard VGA in the BIOS. I'm not sure how to do it and in the BIOS it already says it looks first at the PCI-e.

Do you know anything I can try?
Thank you very much

You may have gotten a faulty card...try it in another machine to make sure.
The card should have shipped with a driver CD...use these only for now. New drivers are not always the better drivers.
