JScipt Problems
« on: August 09, 2007, 11:50:17 PM »
im trying to register jscipt.dll but i keep getting an error when i try registering it. {0x80004005}

When i tried to install the .dll with Windows Scipt 5.6,  i still get an error.

In the registry editor, when i try to open
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\JScript             or
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\JScript.Encode         or
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\JScript Author
...
i get an opening key error
Whats going on?

I'm running Windows XP Home Edition SP2
Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.00 GHz
1 GB of RAM
150 GB Hard Drive
My copy is legit, automatically updated, and i use windows firewall and windows defender and EZ Antivirus.

    when i type "regsvr32 jscript.dll" in Start > Run
    i get this error message:

    "DLLRegisterServer in jscript.dll failed.
    Return code was: 0x80004005"

In the Registry Editor when i click on:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\JScript                     or
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\JScript.Encode         or
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\JScript Author

it says "Cannot open JScript: Error while opening key."
or "Cannot open JScript.Encode: Error while opening key."  etc...
