a problem disturbing me a lot.
« on: August 16, 2007, 08:05:05 AM »
I have windows XP installed on my PC. My problem is that there are 3 drives in my PC C:, D:, E:. Whenever i double click on these drives, there is a message to "choose the program you want to use to open this file" and if i right click on these drives, a different language appears in the menu list, then if i clik on the first option to open same above message appears.
What can i do? i am in a big problem.
Please reply me soon.
take care

Right click on the drive (the icon in My Computer) and click 'Autorun'.
Then there will be a small window with a scrolling thing and then another box that will tell you what you want to do.
Choose 'Open to view folders' or something along the lines of that.

Do you have a file titled autorun in the root directory of each drive?

Your file associations have somehow gotten wonked...
First fix: Go to Start/Run and type in sfc /scannow and hit Enter...have your XP CD handy as it will ask you for it.

Let it run to completion...don't interrupt at all.

    Second fix:
