Key board setting/annoyance
« on: October 06, 2007, 06:13:52 AM »
Hey I dont know whether this goes here or not but someone will tell
I have Windows XP SP2, running on a NEC Versa E2000
Im getting really annoyed with the key board because when even I want to use the "~`'. keys I have to push them and then push space bar for it to show up or for speech marks I can continue typing then it will show but to close I must push " key then space bar, then space bar again to make a space.
How on earth do you get rid of this godforsaken feature? :-\

Would you rephrase, because I don't understand what your problem is.

When typing to insert a speeck mark I have to press the speechmark key, (nothing shows up) then push the spacebar(speechmark shows up) if i want a further space after that i must push space bar again so how do i make it that when i want to insert a speechmark all i have to do is push the speechmark key, and not the speechmark key then space.

Try another keyboard...

Google reveals that the NEC Versa E2000 is a laptop.

Replacement keyboards are advertised in the UK for 69 UK pounds (140 USD approx) plus 17.5% tax (not payable on exported items)

Has it recently started doing this?

Maybe you have some kind of keyboard accessibility feature enabled. Check your manual.

Maybe just some cleaning is needed. Get a can of compressed air, hold your laptop upside down, and use your compressed air to blow garbage out.

Nothing to do with keyboard or dirt, same for anyother keyboard.
Programming somewhere has always done it.
seems to be programmed in the for the speech mark to show you must push space after.
