    My Hi-Jack This Scan???
    « on: November 03, 2007, 11:05:06 AM »
I was directed by BRONI to do this scan and post it here to get help with the problem maybe. I have a Dell SX270, with Windows XP and Internet Explorer...when i am on the internet with internet explorer and try to access and log into Myspace.com it sends me straight to the GOOGLE homepage. It is like something is blocking it from opening the page. It hasnt work for about 5 days now and always worked fine.

    Any ideas?

Any help would be great, i dont want this to happen to other websites and me not knowing what is going on.

    Thanks

You have quiet a few here, so let's try to fix it :D

    1. Print this post out, since you won't have an access to it, at some point.

    2. Download, and install Spybot (if you don't have it) from here: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html

2a. Go Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove, and see, if you have "MyWebSearch" listed (I doubt). If so, uninstall it.

    3. Close all windows, except for HJT.

    4. Put a checkmark next to following HJT entries:

    - R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {00A6FAF6-072E-44cf-8957-5838F569A31D} - C:\Program Files\MyWebSearch\SrchAstt\1.bin\MWSSRCAS.DLL

    - O2 - BHO: MyWebSearch Search Assistant BHO - {00A6FAF1-072E-44cf-8957-5838F569A31D} - C:\Program Files\MyWebSearch\SrchAstt\1.bin\MWSSRCAS.DLL

    - O2 - BHO: mwsBar BHO - {07B18EA1-A523-4961-B6BB-170DE4475CCA} - C:\Program Files\MyWebSearch\bar\1.bin\MWSBAR.DLL

    - O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)

    - O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [My Web Search Bar] rundll32 C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1\bar\1.bin\MWSBAR.DLL,S

    - O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MyWebSearch Email Plugin] C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1\bar\1.bin\mwsoemon.exe

    - O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MyWebSearch Email Plugin] C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1\bar\1.bin\mwsoemon.exe

    - O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://edits.mywebsearch.com/toolbaredits/menusearch.jhtml?p=ZS

    5. Click on "Fix It" button.

    6. Restart your computer in Safe Mode (F8)

    7. Run Spybot (click on updates, first), and fix whatever it asks you to fix.

    8. Open Windows Explorer. Go Tools>Folder Options, put a checkmark next to "Show hidden files, and folders".

    9. Delete following files (if they still exist):

    - MyWebSearch folder from C:\Program Files

    10. Turn off System Restore.

    11. Restart in Normal Mode.

    12. Turn System Restore on.

    13. Run HJT again, and post back its log back here.

I wonder if Firefox will do the same...
It would be worth to install it, if you don't have it.
Maybe, it has something to do with your Google toolbar...

Finally, I did some search about your problem, and it looks like you're not alone, and it's more MySpace problems, then yours:
          http://www.google.com/search?q=myspace+redirected+to+google

You may try to check this thread:
          http://forums.myspace.com/t/3540327.aspx?fuseaction=forums.viewthread
They're talking about logging in through MySpace IM, or changing skins, but i don't use MySpace, so you better check it out by yourself ???
