CD-RW speeds
« on: November 24, 2007, 07:54:15 AM »
Hi, I'm sure this question is very old hat but...

I have a five year old desktop with a TEAC CD-W540E CD- RW drive.  It's working OK with audio cds and older data disks but when I put in a Memorex Ultraspeed CD-RW disc it won't recognise it - keeps asking me to insert disk.  The Ultraspeed works with my laptop NEC DVD+RW ND-6650A.

Can this be rectified with an updated driver or will I have to use slower speed disks?

thanx

Chances are it cannot read a high speed RW...try a different brand and or a slower speed.
I hope you didn't buy a spindle of 100 of these.
