    64bit windows
    « on: December 19, 2007, 09:57:51 AM »
I have a laptop, which i bought about a year ago. This week I got to know that its processor is a 64 bit processor. The windows which was installed on it is a 32 bit windows though.
Do i meet any problems if i switch to the 64 bit version ?

    Thanks a lot  :)

P.S. The procesor is an Intel T7400

Not necessarily... you will need to check whether 64 bit drivers is available for your hardware. Both for the laptop and for any peripherals you have attached, like a printer or scanner. The place to start would be the laptop manufacturer's homepage. If you're a bit lucky you can download 64 bit drivers for your laptop from there.

When I got my new MOBO and AMD64 CPU, I switched to WinXP 64 bit.
The CD I got with my mobo only had 32 bit drivers, but 64 bit drivers weren't that hard to find.

The only one I had to search for a lil while was for my printer, but I did find it.
