Media Player Classic freezes

Hello,
     I have learned that Media Plalyer Classic is a notoriously bad program; now I must admit that this is true.
    I am experiencing my first prloblem with MPC (version 6.4.9.1):  MPC freezes whenever I stop the video playback.
     Has anyone had this problem before?  If so, any luck in solving it?  If so, please advise me as a new user.

Hi, Broni,
     I suppose you are a supporter of VLC!  I would like to use VLC too, but I don't know why its video output is not as good as that of MPC.  I really want to know what I need or need to do in order to improve the video playback.  You know, it seems to me that the VLC skips frames when playhing.  The movements are just unnatural!

I like VLC, because all codecs ar built-in, and it plays almost anything.
About quality??? I'm not sure. Maybe your video card. What do you have there?
What are your computer specs?
VLC plays very well on my computer.

I also like VLC player. I've only ever had two issues with it. Trying to play DVDs from my USB DVD drive. Still haven't determined if that's the drive or VLC's fault, working on that now. The second was opening too many MP3s into the playist at once. VLC crashed.

I had that issue with Winamp in the past.

Well, I did find that it was VLC player that was having a problem with the USB DVD drive and not the drive itself. I won't go into here. I'll start a new thread on that soon.

I still think it's a good program though. I don't have this issue with my desktop system and its DVD drive, it might just be isolated to the USB drive.

Hi Guys,
     For my operating system (Win98se), MPC works much better than VLC; I know how to fix my VLC problem: Upgrade my OS!
     That said, may I remind uyou that my original topic is "Media Player Classic freezes"?  Anyone out there is using MPC or at one time had the same problem as mine?  I would like to hear from him/her.
