write protection
« on: January 16, 2008, 07:22:58 PM »
I am using Windows Vista and just recently purchased a psp slim for my son.  We tried to transfer some music files from my computer onto his psp using his memory stick duo pro and I keep getting the error "this disk is write protected".  My question is how do I remove the write protection from the memory stick duo?  I have researched this some and keep getting that I need to turn the switch "lock" off on the memory card.  This memory card (purchased in December) does not have a switch.   :(

Any help with this would be so much appreciated!!!  Thank you.

Check this registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies
"WriteProtect"=00000000
You may have it set to "1"
