change over motherboard and cpu
« on: October 06, 2008, 07:42:30 AM »
Hiya, Im changing a computer from a fried motherboard. I put in a new motherboard, cpu and ram. And im hoping I do not have to wipe the harddrive. but im getting a system error saying configuration error. Is there any way to load up the drivers of the motherboard without wiping the harddrive? Or am I just kidding myself?

You'll most likely have to reinstall your OS.

A new motherboard, cpu and ram is like a new system. You could try loading BIOS defaults, but in all honesty the mainboard change is the issue.
