    Cant delete files from CD
    « on: February 09, 2008, 06:03:33 AM »
I save lots of files to my CD, and I only need them for a day or so, and I cant delete them to make room for more once use files. It says its a "read only" file CD and I can only add new files, or view, but not delete.

Does anyone know how to help me change this read only file thing so I can delete files? Thanks.

I'm not familiar with computers, so if there's anything more you need to know about the type of comp, or CD please say so. Thanks.

What kind of CDs is this?
You can only burn a CD-R disc once. Ater the burn you can not alter it in any way. So if you're using CD-R discs there is no way you can delete the files and regain the space on the disc.

Rewritable CDs (also known as CD-RW) Can be reused. You will still not be able to delete individual files on it though. To reused it, all files will need to be deleted.

You might want to consider a USB flash drive if you need to add and delete files regularly.
