    Can't get microphone to work
    « on: March 08, 2008, 02:02:31 PM »
Hello, I bought a new microphone for my computer to hopefully get it to work so I'd be able to communicate with others when needed.
The sound on my computer works, I plug everything in the right areas but it never detects my voice, if I have music on though it records the music coming through the headphones but it can not detect sound in the area I am in, anyone know what I'm doing wrong or how to fix it?

ARe you sure the mic isn't muted?
Windows 7 RC Tester.  Working on it.  Your monitor says etchasketch on the side!

You may also need to enable a microphone booster feature in your sound software.  Here's a screen shot of a sound control panel in my system:

If you don't have that box checked, the mic is worthless.
