Very slow link to open iGoogle thru Internet Explorer

 Two days ago my computer suddenly (no prior indication of a problem) started taking 3 - 4 minutes to open my Google browser home page. Also if I link to a Web site from Google, that link also takes forever. Same thing happens if I switch to Yahoo. Any ideas???

Operating system / antivirus & antispyware protection / service packs installed / when did it start happening / did it ever work right / installed any new software?

Thanks for your response and the good info questions. The problem is that I suffered a very hard crash, lost my hard drive and much of the data on it. All sorts of bad things have happened; I'm buying a new desktop computer and have to start all over again.

Sorry to hear the bad news    A hard lesson learned about backing up all your important stuff.  Hope it wasn't too much of a disaster.
