    Hdd compatibility question
    « on: April 30, 2008, 05:43:45 PM »
I have a Panacom LDR104U 4 Channel DVR Combo which is a security camera/surveylance system. It comes with a 160Gb HDD (pata) installed. Whilst it works well the hdd is not 'big' enough for my needs. I have a new 320 Gb pata/ide (Maxtor) hdd which I would like to install but am told the format is different for PC hard drives from DVR drives. Is this so? if so can it be converted? The unit also has a USB port for a pen drive backup, but I cannot get this side of things to work.  I understand this is not strictly a 'Computer' problem, but if I can install the 320 Gb HDD I would not need to 'backup', if you know what I mean!. I think it works on the same principle as a TV type DVR. Any help would be Greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.
