Steam vs. Empire: Total War question
    « on: March 11, 2009, 02:30:38 PM »
Does Steam own Empire Total War?  I tried to install Empire on a clean system and it requested Steam.

So there's a novel idea - put out a great game and tie it to your own control system.

I wonder what marketing genius thought of that?

Please do not call your computer stupid when it breaks or lags. Computers can only do what they are programmed to. and thus, often it is the user that is stupid. GET MY DRIFT?

No, not a double post.  This is a different question.  Read it.

I'm asking if Empire is tied to Steam - that wasn't my point before.

I noticed in Defense Grid it says that the game can be run independently.  I'm sure the same is true of Empire.

Exactly how does one do that???

Are you wanting to remove Steam?
              Why?

Do not remove steam its the only way that you can play your game. IF you remove it, there is no legal way of playing the game. period.

This thread is not about removing Steam, it is in regard to Empire Total War and its association with Steam.

Can Empire run alone?  That is the question.  When I run it on another computer it brings up a Steam registration request.

Basic question is: How can I get this game to run solo?
