Turn off computer button gone

I went to shut down my computer and the log off and shut computer down buttons are gone from the start menu. I have to press the button to shut the computer off now. Any suggestions?

Have you tried restarting? Also what operating system are you using?

Click start menu, run, and type "start shutdown -s". Does that shutdown the computer?

Yeah, just like what Razor said, we need to know your OS..

Also what happened prior to this? Have you downloadeed something from the internet or install some programs? Do you have malware protection installed on your computer?
