Monitor not always showing red

Hi and thank-you in advance for any help!  If I missed this topic somewhere in the forum, please redirect me (I did a search and didn't find an answer). 

I have a Gateway EV910 (I know, super old right?).  I've noticed that sometimes my monitor does not show any red and other times it's fine (right now it's not).  BUT, when I look to make adjustments on the monitor itself, the dialog box shows red as clearly as the other colors ALL of the time.  Do I need a new driver or do I need a whole new monitor?

Is it possible you can try another monitor? (borrow one)

I will try both of those ideas (a new monitor and using my monitor on another computer) and let you know what I come up with.  Thank-you
