Windows not updating

I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 operating on Windows Vista.  My computer just stopped updating a few months ago I have 26 updates that need to be done but I keep getting an error message. Error Message 8007000b I have done the link the support gives you and I have also emailed and talked to dell/microsoft and no luck. 

Can anyone help me?

Did you try this already?

1.  Click Start, and then type cmd in the Start Search box.

2.  In the search results list, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as Administrator.

3.  When you are prompted by User Account Control, click Continue.

4.  At the command prompt, type "fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\ " without the quotation marks & press ENTER.

5.  Reboot your machine and try to update again

Yes I tried that.  Any other ideas?

For what it's worth, when my wife's HP had the same problem about a year ago, I spent 2 - 3 weeks with MS trying to fix the problem without success. I finally did a clean re-install and the problem hasn't re-appeared.
