I don't know if there is such a thing as a virtual CD ROM.
I know you're trying to avoid having to have the CD in there every time you want to play.
I was able to do that on one game, because someone gave me a "hacked" copy of Quake 2. The hack allowed people to play the game without having the CD. The only reason I accepted that version was that I owned a legitimate copy of the game. It was nice to be able to run the game without having to use the drive, but I just did it for a while for convenience.
