I have a Gateway 420GR with XP. I had a noise from the PSU fan. I pulled the PSU out to try to take the fan out. I was unable to open the PSU case, so I put it back in. Now when I plug the power cord in the fans (3)turn and the the light on the on button comes on. the orange light below the power button lights for a second or two. The trays for the cd drives open and close BUT the is no out put to the monitor. The only way to turn the unit off is to unplug the power cord. What's going on here. Nothing should happen when I plug in the Ac power until I press the on button. Is the power supply malfunctioning or the hard drive dead or what?
