    Vista Restore Point

I recently got a virus when downloading Real Player (from CNET of all places) and it caused a number of issues. McAfee didn't find it or stop it so I ended up using Vista Restore Point to get me back to normal.

So here's a question? If plan to download anything should I create a manual Restore Point just before doing so...just in case?

System Restore is not a reliable way to remove any malware. Lack of symptome is not a good way of ensuring it is actually gone.
