    i had viruses in my hp pavilion and then tried system restore then it went into restart mode and it never restarted. no i have no power at all, no fans no lights. would this ne the power supply?

    Check all your connections first, from wall plug ect before replacing the power supply.

       thanks, i did, so would it be smart to go ahead and change the power supply? is that the likely problem

      I would borrow one first of the same or greater wattage and swap it in there...
      No sense buying one until it's been determined that it's the issue...

      Did you run System Restore or System Recovery?
