squiggly code letters

When i try to register on certain sites, it does not recognize my typing of those squiggly letters at the bottom of the page, i tried upper and lower case. any ideas? Jim
p.s. I have windows xp on a dell w/ mc affee security suite.

What squiggly letters? where at the bottom of the page? What language websites are these? what alphabet are you using?

the letters are in a box and are hard to read, sometimes they are labled "ARE YOU HUMAN"

You mean Image verification, to stop bots from spaming? Like the one in the picture below?

The letters have to be case sensitive.

Some up-to-date ones have other accesibility options for those with vision problems. If you think it's that they should provide a service that reads out the letters to you.

"Captcha" is the correct name.

Most are case-sensitive, it will usually tell you if it's not.
