Problems with startup repair

I did a system restore last night and this morning my computer is stuck in a startup repair loop.Its a compaq presario. What can i do ?

Try a disk check from command prompt :

1. boot the computer and press the F8 key repeatedly as the computer starts.
An "Advanced Boot Options" screen opens.
2. Select Repair Your Computer and press Enter .
3. Select a keyboard layout that matches your country/region and click Next .
4. Click Startup Repair
5. Select command prompt.
6. run command:

chkdsk /r
 
This command will try to locate bad sectors and recovery files
