is this virus causing my laptop to malfunction

i have a Lenovo Laptop with Dual Core/2 GB RAM/ 160GB HDD with windows XP SP3.

my lappy was attacked with a software (donno whether virus or spyware) XP POLICE ANTIVIRUS 2009 few days back. ever since the optical drive (DVD RW) is malfunctioning. it doesn't read CDs inserted and shows them blank. when trying to burn some data on disc the process will fail. Please help.

go to the above and post the 3 logs here an expert will see them , harry

Just an idea.. but if the optical drive is an external, you could try hooking it up to someother computer. That would narrow it down to a software of hardware issue.
