Internet Explorer and AOL
« on: May 28, 2005, 11:39:09 AM »
Since installing AOL broadband on my pc, I have been unable to use internet explorer.

AOL said that you cannot use Internet Explorer along with AOL but I just know there must be a way to bypass this as frankly AOL is great as an ISP but IE is far better to work with.

Any help gratefully received!!

1. From what I have heard, AOL isn't all that great. You are the first person I see that claims it is.
2. Mozilla Firefox
-- Internet Explorer is a horrible browser to work with. I suggest you look into Mozilla Firefox which is both free and more versatile.

I don't completely like AOL but I only want to use them for the broadband connection not for surfing the web.  They are cheap and have unlimited downloads, thats the ONLY benefits!!

If you insist on using AOL,  go to IE-->Tools-->Internet Options-->Connections

Make sure Never Dial A Connection is ticked. You can minimize AOL and then bring up IE and should be able to surf to your hearts content.

Hope this helps.  8)
