Windows Media Player not working

My windows media ply 11 is not working.  I have uninstalled and installed it again and again but it is still not working.  When I double click on its icon on my desktop I get no response.  What should I do?

what windows are you using?

is windows media player 10 working on your pc, assuming that you are using windows xp?

Click Start then All Programs and select Windows Media Player. Does it open now?

No.  It is still not opening from the Start-> programs.
When I uninstall it goes to Media Ply 9 but it gives me the error message and would not open.

I am still unable to open windows media player.  Any help?

Do a System Restore to before the problem started
