Rogers is now TRIPLING speeds!
« on: May 28, 2009, 04:58:16 PM »
I got a little message when I opened up firefox that said that my ISP is going from 1mbs to 3mbs!!! So...if I'm getting about 200kbs, maybe I'll get 600kbs??? I know this isn't a fake advertising thing because my homepage is CHF...

Not from what I read, they're keeping the prices the same...

Probably real. We have COX Communications in Arizona. Seems like they increase the speed every year and a half or so. They eventually raise the price a bit too though... >:(

200kbps --> 600 kbps? That's just theoretical and is it true that you will get the benefit of the 3mbps? Maybe they're just trying to lighten the load on their infrastructure by doing it. And maybe you actually see no real big difference at your end.

      That's theoretical, too.

    Expect an increase in bandwidth/speed.

That was me being hopefull. But, it would make sense if they're going from 1mbs (which I would never get on my old computer) to 3mbs, that I should get more speed too...maybe not 600kbs, but more than 200kbs at least.

of course, you should get an increase in speed if they are giving every one of their subcribers the benefit of the increased speed!

I'm getting a strange feeling...you know the feeling you get, right before you get your test back after it's been marked, and you know you did good, you just want to know HOW good...that's what I'm feeling right now...
