    video card help
    « on: June 06, 2009, 05:23:21 PM »
Hi all. I just bought the Sims 3 game and then found out that my computer doesn't meet the requirements. I ran the test and the only thing that failed was my video card requirement. This is what the message said. Does anyone know what I should buy to meet the requirements for the game since Walmart won't let me return it. Thanks a bunch!

Well I'm having the same issue, and I'm going with the NVidia 6800. It supports my computer, but you have to compare the specs CAREFULLY. Or you will have spent money on both the card and the game for nothing.

I've returned video games to Walmart. They will take just about anything back.  Tell them there is something wrong with the game. If they won't give your money back, they will give you store credit.

This is AMD technology, would it work with Nvidia line of laptop GPU's as well?

Laptops are almost impossible to upgrade so i wouldn't give it much thought

As for a PC Gfx card before anyone can help you you need to tell us what your mother board Supports

Dose it For Example have AGP or PCI express ?

if you dotn have PCI express you cant get many newer cards i think Nvidia made a 7 series card that will run on AGP

So Find the Make and model number on your Mother Board and post it here then some one can try and help
Also you may need more Power from your PSU

I tried to return it to walmart. They said I can only exchange it. So I did thinking that I can just turn around and return it for money or store credit but they take it out of the shrink wrap during the exchange.
