my microphone is continually on and will not turn off, when i tap it, i can hear it through the speakers as well with all other noises around the computer, how do i fix this?

Doesn't your microphone have a switch? Maybe not... In the volume mixer, disable your microphone until you want to use it, or just unplug it...

i know i can unplug it, but i would like to use it for games etc, i just want it to work when i tell it too instead of it being on at all times
