Sound won't work

I was told that my computer had a virus so I put my recovery disk in and now it seems to be just fine but I can't get the sound to work now. I went into the control panel to the sound part but still could not get it to work. Can somebody help me please? Thank you so very much!!!!!

you most likely need to have the latest drivers for your sound card to work --


 this is the most common source of the sound not working, especially after a reinstallation of recovery of windows... not having the drivers for sound card installed.

 What sound card do you have? I can go find the site where you can download the drivers for you
