How old is this pc??try a bios reset........hold down the del key.......chose setup defauts......it maybe the your pc has lost....pci controllers?

i built it about 2 years ago... i cant reset the bios because it doesnt boot to the bios...

im thinking my motherboard went... it wont even boot from the cd drive

There are other ways to reset the CMOS. Follow these steps:

important:

If you do not know about electro-static discharge, read this article.

1. Power down Power Supply Unit or unplug power cable
2. Open system case
3. Search the mainboard and/or mainboard manual for either a CMOS battery or CMOS [reset] jumper/switch.

If

3. CMOS battery is found, remove it for approximately 10 to 15 seconds.
4. Place the CMOS battery back in its holder.

Else

4. If no CMOS battery is found, short-circuit CMOS jumper.
