    Problem with Keyboard :(

    Hey to all!
    I have Gericom laptop M6-T 1200MHz
    some month ago I got a virus, which disabled keyboard. it was not totally disabled - sometimes was working. then I reinstalled OS (again to XP), but it hasnt helped  :(
    when I connect another keyboard with computer, laptop's keyboard and connected keyboard are both working, but when I remove extra keyboard, laptop's keyboard gets disabled immediately :( what can be done to solve this problem?

    What does it look like in Device Manager? Are there any errors?

    Start>right click "my computer">properties>hardware tab>device manager

    Do you see any yellow exclamation points, red question marks or red X's?

      There are everything ok in Device mgr, but in case there are some problems, after re-installing XP they must be gone! I still think this probelm is caused, because my comp is quite old (made in 2002)

      Have you opened it up lately, and had a look inside?   What's the dust factor like?

      Keyboards are CHEAP to buy. A 7 year old keyboard probably needs retiring. If the OS was reinstalled then it isn't a virus causing the trouble. It probably wasn't a virus causing the trouble in the first place.

      Caught ... a 2002 laptop is way past its best... if it has USB then an external keyboard maybe? Even if a replacement is available, its cost is probably more than the value of the computer.
