Hey I'm just asking for some guidance on audio for a laptop. My buddy's laptop came without a reboot disk so he used his old windows xp reboot disc for his desktop to reload windows on the laptop. When he was finished the laptop didn't have any audio anywhere there's no way of getting to volume or anything. So basically my question is, is there anyway of downloading audio drivers or something to put his audio back on?

    update:

I went into sound and audio devices and theres no audio device. I also went to dell drivers and downloads and tried downloading the recommended software and the driver downloader had an error.

Assuming, you're talking about recovery CD, it'll work only on one particular computer, it was made for. You can't use it on any other computer.

    What brand of laptop?

Audio device drivers may be available at the manufacturer's website.
