    it's at it again...
    « on: August 28, 2009, 12:47:28 PM »
Sadly, again, my computer was working fine until yesterday when I turned it on and no pages would load in internet browsers...
My internet connection is fine, I can go on AIM and Steam, or use Limewire and whatnot; but I keep getting either "cannot connect to the server 'www.[address].com'" or "page not found" error messages. I temporarily disabled McAffee and all of it's components while I was on the normal boot yesterday (to see if it was preventing pages from loading), and it didn't have any effect. :'( lol
As I was told the last time:
I used SuperAntiSpyware to scan for spyware, and it found (I believe) around 37 Adware files. I had them quarantined and removed.
Then I used MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware to scan for malware, quarantined and removed whatever was found (I don't remember how many or what it found).
I used HijackThis to do a system scan and save a logfile (which I attached to this post, and also uploaded to TrendMirco for analysis), and it found quite a few things (supposedly) incorrectly configured...

    -----------

I haven't done a scan with AVG yet, I suppose I'll do that now, while I'm in Safe Mode...
So what else can I do besides the scans? I've also did a System Restore to a few days ago, back when everything was working fine, and that didn't fix anything...

you have 2 anti-virus in your pc , it is not reccommed

      You have Viewpoint installed.

Viewpoint Media Player/Manager/Toolbar is considered as Foistware instead of malware since it is installed without users approval but doesn't spy or do anything "bad".

      More information:
      •ViewMgr.exe - Useless

      •Viewpoint to Plunge Into Adware
It is suggested to remove the program now.
Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following programs if present.
      •Viewpoint

      •Viewpoint Manager

      •Viewpoint Media Player

      •Viewpoint Toolbar

      •Viewpoint Experience Technology

I'll definitely keep that in mind.
Oddly, now my browsers work...I haven't done any of the Viewpoint removal yet (lol)
        Interesting...
Now I won't be surprised if tomorrow, my internet browsers won't work...this has happened before...
