    unwanted automatic selection

    Hello
    I have Firefox,and for the last week,or more,I am denied access to the web because I am in "work offline mode".I have to uncheck the box under "file".
    Can you help me;I NEVER checked that box.

    Upper left corner....
    Clik on File...uncheck Work Offline...

    I think he is saying that Firefox is starting in offline mode by default and that he wants it to start in online mode by default.

    Franke, are you using the newest version of Firefox (3.5.3)?

    I thought he was saying that even though he unchecks "Work Offline", Firefox still starts in offline mode.

      Yes,I have no problem unchecking the "work offline"
      I think that I have the latest Firefox version;I remember doing an upgrade

      To see what version of Firefox you have, go to "Help" in the menu bar and click "About Mozilla Firefox".

        Are you running Windows or Linux?
        I have not had this problem before but it looks like it happens mostly on Linux.

        If you are using Linux, try this article.  [Link]

        The only solution I have seen for Windows is an experimental extension titled StayInOnlineMode.
        I have not seen reinstalling Firefox suggested anywhere but I would try that first.
