    operating system not found
    « on: October 23, 2009, 05:00:49 PM »
hi, my pc says "operating system not found" in a blank screen, nothing else happening.
i don't have any recovery disk, all i have is Ultimate Boot CD v4.1.1.
first i ran Salvation scan  & repair and found 14 defects. repaired 13, one was left(couldn't repair.)then,i ran MHDD32,it said one AMNF error, couldn't repair.
next day,i scanned there was no error.
i tried a few more things on UBCD some of them even didn't work properly and keep saying drive A,T,Q.
it seems it doesn't recognise my hard drive C and D. i checked that BIOS recognise them.

    my questions are;
1.how to make UBCD recognise my hard drives.
2.can i go to the recovery tool in my computer? now i reboot pc without CD,press F10 but i can't get into it after using UBCD.
3.what i can do with UBCD now?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've never heard of Salvation scan...
If UBCD does not recognise the HDD's then you have serious issues...
    Post back with more details....

i just noticed that UBCD might have installed or something for Linux.
everytime i use UBCD to run something,i see "Linux" or kernel image etc..
when  i got UBCD i didn't even know what i was doing and just try many programs on it...
obviously, some stuff was installed.like my keyboard types a bit different.
i actually saw many times on the screen, asking me to install bunch of stuff but within a couple seconds the screen scrolls down and doing something.(can't read read cuz it scrolls fast)
i was gonna try "super grub disk"on UBCD,it seems to be able to boot hard drive, windows etc..but then, again,i see A drive as "Linux" which shouldn't be exist...

i am not familier with computer so i don't know what info & detail i should give...

before everything happens,pc was acting weird though.
it kept shutting down, antivirus kept blocking Internet Explorer.eventually i downloaded Safari and deleted IE.
i got many errors, antivirus deleted some system files :( so i tried to recover,it didn't work.
it stopped recovering at some point, computer restarted by itself.
and i got"error loading operating system".

then,i got  UBCD,played with it,turned into "operating system not found".
i hope i'm not making problems worse...

I'm not so sure you should be fooling around with UBCD...
