Router not working

comcasts internet signall went down last night and so did my connection. i hard reset it.. silly me and now the comcastsignal is back up but ive screwed my router.i am trying to set up my router .....netgear wr614v9..  do i do this  on routerlogin.net?. sI usee comcast and mozilla firefox 3.5 v4...thanks

Dont you mean WGR614v9?
Default router settings are what you want for cable modem.

All you should have to do is unplug the router for a few seconds and then plug it back in. It should automatically reset.

Actually, I've found with mine (Linksys) that it needs to be unplugged for about 30 seconds to fire back up again.  I tried it for a few seconds a number of times and it didn't work.  I finally talked to someone in tech support who recommended unplugging it for 30 seconds and that's worked fine ever since.

Yeah, sometimes it takes a few seconds for capacitors to discharge. In my case it's essentially instantaneous - but it varies with the hw.
