    No Audio Device
    « on: October 06, 2009, 10:23:44 PM »
    Hi,

I am getting a message that says "No Audio Device" when I go into Contral Panel\Sounds and Audio Devices. I've tried deleting the things under Sound, video and game controllers in the device manager and restarting to see what windows detects, that didn't help. I also checked under Services and made sure that Windows Audio was not disabled.

Here is my information from Everest

Yes, the kids were messing around with it and i suspect they deleted something they weren't supposed to, but I'm not sure what.

It sounds like the drivers have been removed/disabled. Try going to the manufacturer website and update the drivers

The drivers CD that came with the computer was lost in a flood.

              Download The motherboard drivers here:
              http://www.emachines.com/support/product_support.html?cat=Desktops&subcat=W%20Series&model=W3052

Click on Downloads and choose the BIOS motherboard drivers package. This contains your audio drivers.

i had the same problem and did everything under the sun and then I went to www.download.com and downloaded the Realtek AC97 audio drive from the site directly instead of updating from my device manager..it worked in five seconds....

Look in your System for your Audio if you are grayed out and there is no audio device detected, that may fix it....worked for me after hours of troubleshooting ..using XP Pro by the way
