tracking cookies redirecting websites or opening ads in new window

i had some viruses which i successfully removed (delphi.gen and heur/exploit.html) but looks like they leaft behind lots of tracking cookies i simply can't escape. i have tried the obvious tools -internet options -delete cookies but they just keep coming back. i have run avira and avg antivirus, malwarebytes, ad-aware, superantispyware and spybot search and destroy. the only ones that find some tracking cookies are ad-aware and spybot -i remove the cookies but once i go on the internet the problem is back. my browser keeps redirecting to another website after i do a google search and click on the link (both internet explorer and firefox)
can someone please help. i am desperate as it is getting almost impossible to do research on the internet with the annoying redirection
